Madonna whipped fans into a frenzy with a jokey four-letter blast last night as she kicked off her first world tour for eight years.
The Queen Of Pop shouted “f*** you m*****f******” as she finished her third song of the night, Candy Perfume Girl.
And as she launched into her next, Beautiful Stranger, she screamed: “And you lot can f*** off as well!”
The two-hour extravaganza in Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, sent the capacity 18,000 crowd wild.
I was one of the lucky journalists to get a ticket.
Madonna arrived on a smoke-filled stage to deafening chants of “Madonna! Madonna!” As she burst into her first number, Drowned World, the section of stage she was on rocketed into the air in a jaw-dropping stunt.
Madonna went on to belt out another 20 songs, wowing the audience in six stunning outfits by Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Each represented a character: Punk Girl, Geisha Girl, Ninja Girl, Cyberpunk Cowgirl, Spanish Senorita and Ghetto Girl.
Her punk look was completed by a tartan skirt in a nod to her Scottish wedding to Guy Ritchie.
She rode a mechanical bull in her cowgirl segment while performing Express Yourself.
Madonna was joined on stage by ten dancers and two backing singers, Niki Harris and Donna DeLory – the same girls who took part in both the Girlie Show in 1993 and Blonde Ambition in 1990.
Madonna even played guitar during the show – strumming along to Candy Perfume Girl and performing acoustic guitar on I Deserve and Secret.
In one heart-stopping routine she flew above the stage attached only to a trapeze wire before launching into the Ninja sequence.
Four large video screens ensured every movement was relayed around the arena. The show climaxed with ear-splitting explosions from 25 double-shot cannons.
She came on for her two-song encore of Holiday and Music in a black vest with the sparkly legend MOTHER on the front and, oddly, the word FACKER on the back.
The show’s finale was a video screen appearance by her pal Ali G, who told the crowd: “That’s it. P*** off home.”
Perfectionist Madonna spent up to eight hours a day rehearsing for her Drowned World Tour, I can exclusively reveal.
Talking to me before her spectacular opening gig, Madonna said: “I’ve been looking forward to these shows for ages and I want everything to be absolutely perfect.”
The 42-year-old star added: “It is a theatrical performance of my music. I have taken my inspiration from many things—martial arts, flamenco, country, punk, rock ‘n’ roll, dance and circus.”
Spain was the first stop on a tour which will visit Italy, Germany and France before hitting London’s Earl’s Court for six nights from July 4.
The show uses more than 100 tons of equipment which needed TWO 747 jumbo jets to transport to Europe from LA
