Madonna has delighted fans in New Jersey as she kicked off her Sticky and Sweet Tour in the US.
Performing at the Izod Centre, the singer opened up her two-hour show with the song Candy Shop, followed by Beat Goes On and Give It 2 Me, her duet with Pharrell Williams.
Madonna fan Chris Madiva said: “As far as her fans are concerned, she’s really got a message in all her work.
“It’s really like performance art and that’s what I think keeps the fans coming back, and great music of course, but I think the image is just sort of what has kept her in the media eye and commercially successful all these years.” The next stop on the North American leg of her world tour is New York before she heads to Boston and Toronto. The tour will wrap up in Mexico City on November 30.
